All counties have four County Commissioners elected by precinct and one County Judge elected at large. See the Travis County Commissioner Court website for a list of Commissioners and a precinct map. The five members of the Commissioners Court are among the 48 elected positions in Travis County government and serve as the chief executive overseeing matters of policy and budget for the efficient, effective and equitable delivery of county services.
Some counties govern each precinct separately. Others, like Travis, have a central form of county governance in which services and the budgets to provide them are decided for the entire county by the Commissioners Court. Travis County Commisioners Court meets publicly every Tuesday to deliberate and decide matters of business and policy related to the county as a whole. For pending and past agendas, video and transcripts of Commissioners Court voting and work sessions, see the Travis County Commissioners Court website.
